Service policy

Service policy &
practice guidelines.

Written down so nobody has to guess. If something here is unclear, ask before you book rather than after.

Purpose

What is included,
and what is not.

This page sets out what each session type covers, what it does not, which services carry an additional fee, and the rules around written programmes, WhatsApp media, online sessions and booking.

An assessment comes first

Required for every new client, and for anyone returning after roughly three months without a session.

Follow-ups carry the work

Progression, reassessment and ongoing treatment happen here, not in the first hour.

Thirty minutes is focused

For specific progressions and check-ins. It does not replace a full 60-minute follow-up.

Online is structured differently

Suitable for some cases and not others. I will say which.

The appropriate session type and duration is determined by clinical need and progression. I reserve the right to recommend a different session duration where required.

Session types

The four sessions.

01

Initial assessment

60 minutes

A comprehensive evaluation used to understand your movement, injury history, training background and goals. It forms the foundation of everything that follows.

What it includes

  • Detailed discussion of injury history, training background and goals
  • Movement assessment, global and region-specific
  • Identification of key limitations, asymmetries or restrictions
  • Initial hands-on or movement-based intervention
  • Real-time coaching and technique correction
  • Clinical reasoning and explanation of findings
  • A clear plan for next steps, treatment or training direction

What it does not include

  • A fully written exercise programme
  • Custom video recording or edited exercise content
  • Ongoing coaching or follow-up via WhatsApp
  • Medical aid reports or formal documentation

These services are available separately and are charged separately.

The focus of the initial assessment is evaluation and clinical direction. Ongoing progression and structured programming are addressed in follow-up sessions or through separate services.

02

Follow-up session

60 minutes

Used to progress, refine and adapt your plan based on your response, your goals and where you currently are. These sessions are the ongoing clinical process.

What it includes

  • Check-in and update on symptoms, training and progress
  • Reassessment of the relevant movement patterns or areas
  • Progression or regression of exercises as needed
  • Real-time coaching and technique correction
  • Adjustments to load, range, tempo and complexity
  • Integration of exercises into your current training or lifestyle
  • Clinical reasoning and explanation of what changed
  • Clear guidance on what to focus on until the next session
  • A full written programme, set up for you on the training app
  • Video of your own exercises, filmed in the session and sent to you on WhatsApp

What it does not include

  • Ongoing coaching or case management via WhatsApp between sessions
  • Edited or produced video content beyond the clips filmed in your session
  • Medical aid reports, letters or formal documentation

These services are available separately and are charged separately.

03

Follow-up session

30 minutes

Focused, targeted work on a specific part of your plan. Best suited to progressions of existing exercises, technique refinement, and check-ins on a specific concern.

What it includes

  • Brief check-in on progress or symptoms
  • Targeted reassessment of one specific area
  • Progression or refinement of your current plan
  • Adjustments to specific exercises
  • Clear direction for what to continue working on

What it does not include

  • A full-body reassessment
  • Multiple areas or complex case management
  • A fully written or structured programme
  • Detailed programme documentation outside of session time
  • Custom video recording or edited content
  • Ongoing support via WhatsApp

These services are available separately and are charged separately.

The 30-minute session is limited to focused work on specific areas and does not replace a full 60-minute follow-up.

04

Online consultation

45 minutes

A 45-minute video consultation. Each appointment reserves a full 60-minute slot to allow for preparation, platform setup and connection time, documentation and clinical notes, and post-session planning.

What it includes

  • Discussion of progress, symptoms and training updates
  • Visual movement assessment where applicable
  • Guided exercise coaching and corrections
  • Adjustments to your current plan
  • Clear direction for the next phase

What it does not include

  • Hands-on assessment or treatment
  • A fully written or structured programme
  • Detailed programme documentation outside of session time
  • Custom video filming or edited exercise content
  • Ongoing support via WhatsApp

These services are available separately and are charged separately.

If you are in Cape Town and able to attend, sessions are conducted in person where possible, for assessment and treatment quality. Online sessions are not appropriate for every condition and I reserve the right to recommend an in-person session where it is clinically required. Clients are responsible for a stable internet connection and appropriate space to move.

Booking

The rules that
save us both time.

New clients

Assessment first. No exceptions — I cannot treat what I have not seen.

Returning after ~3 months

A fresh assessment. Too much changes in twelve weeks to carry on from an old programme.

Payment

On the day. Invoice provided; you claim from your medical aid yourself.

Hours

Monday to Friday, first session from 06:00, last finishing by 15:00. No evenings, no weekends.
