Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation
in Sea Point.

Rehabilitation is the part that comes after the diagnosis. The scan has been done, the physiotherapy has helped, the pain has settled — and what is left is a body that does not yet move the way it did. That gap is where biokinetics works.

i — Where we are

A few minutes from Sea Point

The practice is at Hamilton Rugby Club on Stephen Way, along Beach Road from Sea Point. Most people who train here live or work between Sea Point and the Waterfront.

ii — Assessment first

The place that hurts is rarely where it started

A stiff ankle arrives as a sore lower back. A shoulder that will not lift traces back to a ribcage that stopped rotating. Screening movement in three planes is how that gets found, rather than treating the loudest symptom.

iii — Then a plan

A small number of exercises, in an order

What comes out of that hour is a plan with a reason behind every movement in it — not a printed sheet of thirty exercises nobody does.

Who comes in for this

01

After surgery

Knee, shoulder, hip or ankle, once your surgeon has cleared you for active rehabilitation.

02

After a sports injury

Where the aim is getting back to the sport itself, not only back to daily life.

03

The niggle that never left

Something that has been managed for months or years without ever quite resolving.

04

On referral

From a physiotherapist, orthopaedic surgeon, GP or another biokineticist. Biokinetics sits alongside medical treatment, not instead of it — if you are under a surgeon or a physio, that relationship carries on and the work here is built around it.
